Blue Ridge Mountain Ornament | Smoky Mountain Art

Blue Ridge Mountain Ornament

This Blue Ridge Mountain ornament features one of those mountain views that makes me want to stop and simply take it all in—layer after layer of ridges fading into the distance beneath the soft blue-hour light. A lone tree in the foreground adds the finishing touch to that wonderful sense of depth.

I photographed this scene along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Maggie Valley, North Carolina. While that is where the photograph was taken, this view has the timeless look of the mountains throughout this beautiful region—the Blue Ridge Mountains, Smoky Mountains and the mountains surrounding Asheville and western North Carolina.

The photograph is reproduced on a 3-inch round ceramic ornament, turning this beautiful mountain view into a little piece of art for the Christmas tree. It makes a meaningful keepsake for anyone who loves the Blue Ridge or Smoky Mountains, has traveled through this part of the country, or simply has special memories of time spent in the mountains.

A Little Piece of the Mountains for Christmas
