Bald Eagle Ornament

This bald eagle ornament features my original photograph of an eagle along the beach at Cook Inlet in Alaska. This particular eagle was coming down toward the beach in hopes of finding dinner, giving me the chance to photograph it low along the shoreline with the water beyond.

I’ve been blessed to photograph Bald Eagles many times closer to home, but Alaska was something completely different. Eagles seemed to be everywhere. I lost count of the nests we saw, but some of my favorite moments with them happened while we were on the beach along Cook Inlet.

It was an incredible place to spend time with a camera. We had the ocean in front of us and views of three volcanoes in the distance, but somehow the eagles kept stealing our attention. Watching and photographing them down low along the beach, with waves rolling in behind them, was an experience I won’t forget.

For someone who loves Bald Eagles, birds and wildlife, this ornament is a little way to bring that experience to the Christmas tree. And for anyone who has traveled to Alaska, it can also be a reminder of just how wild and beautiful the state really is.

Bald Eagle Ornament – Ceramic or Wood

The 3-inch round ceramic ornament has a glossy finish that brings out the color and fine details of the original photograph.

The wood ornament has a softer, more rustic appearance. The natural wood grain shows through the photograph, particularly in lighter areas, and darker areas of the image will reproduce darker on wood. Because the grain varies naturally, no two wood ornaments will look exactly alike.

For the brightest color and greatest photographic detail, choose ceramic. Choose wood if you prefer the softer appearance and character of natural wood grain.
