Cumberland Falls Ornament

This Cumberland Falls ornament features my original photograph of one of the places in Kentucky that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first visited Cumberland Falls when I was just three years old, and all these years later, I still find myself drawn back.

I’ve returned many times, sometimes to photograph the falls and sometimes simply to hike and explore the surrounding trails. There are so many different ways to experience Cumberland Falls, and that’s one reason I never seem to tire of photographing it.

For this image, instead of concentrating only on the classic open view of the waterfall, I photographed Cumberland Falls through the surrounding trees. I love the way the forest frames the falls and gives you a sense of discovering it through the Kentucky woods.

For someone who has visited Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, hiked its trails or has their own memories connected to this special part of Kentucky, this ornament can be a little reminder of that place each Christmas. It also makes a meaningful Kentucky keepsake for waterfall lovers, hikers and anyone who loves the natural beauty of the Bluegrass State.

Cumberland Falls Ornament – Ceramic or Wood

The 3-inch round ceramic ornament has a glossy finish that brings out the color and fine details of the original photograph.

The wood ornament has a softer, more rustic appearance. The natural wood grain shows through the photograph, particularly in lighter areas, and darker areas of the image will reproduce darker on wood. Because the grain varies naturally, no two wood ornaments will look exactly alike.

For the brightest color and greatest photographic detail, choose ceramic. Choose wood if you prefer the softer appearance and character of natural wood grain.

The photograph on this ornament is my own original photography and the finished piece is signed. While I love traveling throughout the United States with my camera, Kentucky will always be special to me. Cumberland Falls is one of those places I have photographed again and again through the years.
