Denali Ornament – Denali National Park Alaska Keepsake

This Denali ornament features my original photograph of the magnificent mountain in Denali National Park, Alaska. Denali isn’t always willing to show itself. The mountain is so often hidden by clouds that visitors sometimes talk about joining the “30% Club”—those fortunate enough to actually get a clear view.

Rather than photographing only from the more familiar viewpoints, I spent time looking for less-traveled places where I could create a different view of Denali. That’s part of the fun for me when I’m photographing a well-known landscape: finding my own perspective rather than simply making the photograph everyone else has made.

On this day, the clouds cooperated and Denali was there in all its incredible scale, rising above the Alaska landscape. Knowing how easily the mountain could have disappeared behind the clouds made the opportunity to photograph it even more special.

For someone who has visited Denali National Park—and perhaps joined that “30% Club” themselves—this ornament can bring back memories of an Alaska adventure each year when the Christmas decorations come out. It also makes a meaningful keepsake for someone who loves our National Parks, mountains, Alaska or simply dreams of seeing Denali someday.

Denali Ornament – Ceramic or Wood

The 3-inch round ceramic ornament has a glossy finish that brings out the color and fine details of the original photograph.

The wood ornament has a softer, more rustic appearance. The natural wood grain shows through the photograph, particularly in lighter areas, and darker areas of the image will reproduce darker on wood. Because the grain varies naturally, no two wood ornaments will look exactly alike.

For the brightest color and greatest photographic detail, choose ceramic. Choose wood if you prefer the softer appearance and character of natural wood grain.
